A few weeks ago I decided enough was enough. I was tired; tired of waking up running late, rushing to work starving and then snacking on the first pastry I could find. I was tired of feeling tired all day because I hadn't started my day right. I've never really been a big breakfast person when it's early in the morning, I prefer an epic weekend brunch but skipping the most important meal of the day was leaving me grouchy and more importantly hungry. And nobody likes being hungry. So I made a small investment in a blender, some frozen and fresh fruit and veg and I started blending.
I have to admit that even I thought this was just going to be another fad of mine but I have actually really been enjoying making smoothies and juices. They're delicious, filling, full of nutrients and something I can easily take with me on my morning commute without too much hassle.
Here's is my current favourites recipe that's I've been using over the past few weeks.
Handful of Spinach
3-4 Slices of Pineapple
1 Banana
200ml Almond Milk
Since changing up my morning routine I feel much better. I am full and ready to start my day. I feel like I have more energy and just generally I feel good that I've taken a bit more time to do something good for myself in the mornings. Any recipe recommendations in the comments would be much appreciated!
